Chefs for Change Jazz, Bourbon & Chocolate
Our first Chefs for Change event of the year at Weldon Mills Distillery was a success! Attendees enjoyed live jazz music, bourbon & chocolate pairings, and socializing with fellow FMF supporters.

Message from Executive Director Tammy Laurence
FMF wants to end family homelessness in Durham and will soon begin efforts to recruit, educate, equip, and mobilize community ambassadors to join our Functional Zero for Family Homelessness initiative.
Over the next four months, I will share the truths about family homelessness with the Durham community. You will learn the true causes, challenges, and facts about Durham's homeless families. If you want to learn more -- or become involved -- please take the first step by reading my special email message on September 13th. |
Back to School
Volunteers from Epworth UMC hosted a fantastic Back to School Bash. They had yard games, a face painter, and catered dinner from Southern Harvest. In addition, a generous donor bought ice cream from Alsies ice cream truck for all of our guests. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
We also had a back to school information session with many of our community partners. Thank you to Families & Communities Rising, Dress for Success Triangle, Child Care Services Association, Durham's Partnership for Children, and Trio of Central Piedmont Community College for coming!
Our kiddos received book bags and school supplies thanks to our many generous community partners. Thank you to Briannah with Macedonia Apostolic Church, Tamaira with the Villages of Cornwallis, the Durham County Public Library, the McKinney-Vento Program, and Raging Bull Harley-Davidson. Study Buddies, our afterschool tutoring program, begins on September 11th. If you are interested in volunteering as a Study Buddy, please email Anna Krecklow at anna@fmfnc.org
